Dguula Industries

21 May 2007

I got it up and running - Dguula Industries - indigeneous and non indigeneous working side by side in an industry for youth in the Nambucca Valley screen printing reconciliation art on clothing.  Seven months down the track, Stacey was ready to take over. I offered it to the organisation who had so generously loaned the premises, but they declined. I have the equipment.  My art has expanded to cover other markets, not just the aboriginal reconciliation market.  If you would like to purchase the equipment and get a similar initiative going in your area, let me know. April 2007 Update

I woke up to it on 16 April 2007, six months down the track, exactly to the day, since we began this industry for youth in the Nambucca Valley.  The only way the business will take off is for me to stop going to Dguula Industries as a supervisor, to allow Stacey's initiative and responsibility to bloom. She has the motivation. Praise God.

February 2007 Update.

We have a new name: Dguula Industries . We were previously known as Industry for Youth in the Valley.
Dguula is the local aboriginal Gumbaynngirr work for “together”. Our first indigeneous worker, Stacey, is doing extremely well both in the art of screen printing and in her capacity as a business supervisor.

October 2006 Update.

We started the business of screen printing reconciliation art on clothing on 16 October 2006 . It started with one indigeneous worker, Stacey, who is being trained in the art of silk screen printing as well as business skills, as it's hoped she will be capable of becoming supervisor of the business. What we're working towards is having aboriginal Australian and Australian youth working side by side in an endeavour towards reconciliation.

Israel

16th September 2006

Messianic Jew, Lisa Loden, has written a compelling piece for Christianity Today. Currently living on the Mediterranean Sea between Tel Aviv and Haifa, she writes: "Daily my heart is burdened unto tears with the pain, trauma, and suffering in this region. Hundreds have died, thousands were wounded, hundreds of thousands of people uprooted. We are all-Israelis and Lebanese, Jews and Arabs-who went through this together. Everyone is suffering, and to try to compare the suffering of individuals or groups is not only impossible, it is also futile. Suffering is decidedly personal. My suffering leads me to pray, all the while listening to the news knowing I will never hear the whole story. Above all I try to hear God's heart for the people on both sides of the conflict."

"Much has been written about the magnitude of suffering in Lebanon and Israel. War is what it is. It's never sanitary and selective. As a committed follower of God and His Son, my task is to pray and to actively do God's will. And pray I do for His purposes to be accomplished in the Middle East.

War does not alter what has always been clear: God loves all people equally, and His will is for all men everywhere to come to Him. As God's people in the Middle East, our responsibility is to work and pray for this. Our voices need to be heard calling our peoples to repentance. We should be the first to give aid, alleviate suffering wherever we can, and above all share the Good News of the gospel with all." "I am in contact with many people in the north of Israel, brothers and sisters who have lived for weeks in crowded bunkers and bomb shelters, and I have dozens of brothers who are in the Israeli army," she says. "I also have contact with Christians in Lebanon. They all say the same thing, "Pray that we will be a strong testimony to the gospel of Jesus in the midst of the surrounding devastation. Pray for all who are suffering, regardless of where they live." Again and again I hear the same cry coming from God's people on both sides of the conflict."

"There are signs of hope, and if our eyes are open, we can see them like small roadside flowers. Messianic congregations are sending aid to Christian Arabs in the north, a Christian Palestinian ministry centre in the Bethlehem area has opened its doors to Jewish believers from the north of Israel, groups of Jewish and Arab believing young people are together in reconciliation-based camps and conferences in Norway, Holland, Burundi, Finland, and elsewhere...Let us be the first to pray, to give aid, to weep with those who weep, and to mourn with those who mourn. Let us be about our Father's business, calling men to repentance, reconciling men to God, and reconciling men to men at all times and in all places."

31st May 2006

Praise the Lord for the peaceable exodus of the Israeli people from the Palestinian Territory of Gaza at the eviction of their Prime Minister, and the support of the majority of the Israeli people.

When the troops have been moved out of Jerusalem, the Holy City to Jews, Christians and Muslims, and when Mr Bush lays down his arms in a Christian way, I see world peace in my lifetime.

The Bible says: St. Matthew 5:9
"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God" Amen

26th August 2005

We continue to pray for peace between the Israeli and Palestinian people.

We pray for the wall to be stopped which is dividing humanity against itself, and Palestinian from Palestinian.

We pray to stop the wall from going through Jerusalem, holy city to Muslims, Jews and Christians, and let there be peace throughout the world, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit

We pray to you Lord Jesus Christ to speak to them in their hearts.

We pray to you most fervently heavenly Father in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit that the wall goes no further. Amen

It's a massive wall.
